trail your
fingers in the
air
they leave
droplets of blood
haze that tastes
of metal
when the
red rain comes
down look
into the sky
for the bleeding
goddess

feet dig into
the floor step
onto the scale
and watch the
numbers rise
and rise
think of emaciation
over another
piece of cake
excess is your
love and lack
of want is your
stumbling
block

eat air
red paint
on your nails
to hide
the blood
underneath
puzzle over
the wet on
your face

take your
hair into
your hands
and watch
it come
away

shaking with
the coldness
inside of you
icy mouth
and tundra
eyes
lost in
the mist
run in a
frightened sprint
into the white
walls turn
around searching
for your
sanity
blood a slick
on your wrists
the bathtub
is pink
sorry

mouthing
empty words
tumbling into
the night
pinned to
a piece of cardboard
skin exposed
and helpless
watch them
take you
apart piece
by piece
'is the surgery
over doctor?'

eat your
cake and play
that little trick
of yours
the bathroom
is backed
up
was it you?
was it you?
was it you?

self-obsession
is the scars on
your breasts
and the vomit
on your breath

hug yourself
and watch your
life fall
away
cooked and
served to the
world
second course
first they took
your thoughts and
then your sanity
empty husk
of nothing
blow away
into the wind

triumph harsh
in your mouth
self-destruction
by proxy

thank you
