crimson snow
falling softly
covering the
cruel ground with
its shadow
snowflakes
each a ruby
grin drifting like
ash
take a paintbrush
with sharp
edges and paint
loud screams
on scarred
skin
pale from lack
of sun
jagged laughter
in my throat
sharp glass
eyes reflecting
the chubby
girl in the mirror
with dough
arms and round
plain face
hide it
from his eyes
put on your
cats eye mask
red velvet
of course
and smile shyly
at him (or is
that slyly)
hide the black
marks
underneath
your eyes
undergraduate
surviving on
all too much
coffee and not
enough sleep
fucking your
blade until
the blood runs
down in cool
streams
staining the
white sheets
the ones where
you sleep
alone
hide the careless
caress of hunger
the days where
you make love
to food
hoarding that
one bite
that one bite
that will be it
for the whole day
no more
lettuce with
mustard
eat mustard
with a spoon
little packets
poured into the
mouth
a sinless sensation
cup after cup
of coffee
cigarette butts
littering the ground
light up
inhale exhale
write your thesis
coughing steadily
ignoring the slight
wrists that ache
and the feel of the
bones in your
ass underneath you
type and type
and type and
see if you can
escape through
figures on the screen
sift through endless
notes and celebrate
each wasted hour
with the touch of
a razor blade
parting the skin
oozing blood onto
your notes
smear the ink
smile tightly
and remember that
you can stay
up all night
study one more
hour one
more day
one more year
pages of notes
stained with
mascara and
blood smile without
humor
graduate
work it's where its
at
